E Ever since I was a little kid I loved music. I always wanted to live
the life I've seen on TV, I mean who hasn't? Well, I was born in
Detroit, Michigan. I lived there for the most of my elementary school
years. I can remember in the summer time going down the street with
the new rap CD that just came out. I'd go to my boy's house and bang
it outside on his stereo. I even remember when my cousin used to come
from Down South and we used to pretend we were rappers and write
songs, little stuff, just kickin' it. But as I grew up I really
started getting a real like for it. When I was in 8th grade I used to
write music with my boy Demetrious, but that never went anywhere. When
I entered high school, that's when I started grindin.
The best part
about it is that I had a studio in my school. How perfect was that?
When I started my 10th grade year I was in the studio every week with
my boy's jus going hard during the end of the year. Our hard work paid
off, we produced a demo. But, unfortunately I left for another school.
In the summer, I sent some of my music to Mr. Davis, In House
Producer! A&R Manager of Slip and Slide records. To be honest I was
tired of being without money and my parents dealing with the same
issue I was going through. Who isn't tired of the struggle? One day an
older man told me there were three things he saw in me that was going
to take me somewhere in my life, "My hunger for greatness, my mouth,
and my persona." I look at that now and say, he was right. God gave me
a gift of being creative; therefore, I'm taking that, my life story,
the tireless struggle and putting it into music. I love it! There1
isn't a time when I can remember never having a beat in my head.
My goal is to take my parents out of the situation there in. I want
them to see the world and I want the best for them like they want for
me. I feel that this is my last chance for something great and I'm
willing to work hard as I can for it. I'm 16 and focused! Can't
anything take me off my game. Hopefully, I'll win Slip and Slide on
the grind so I can entice the world with my musical talent. Last, but
not least, I want to thank God for what he has done. If it wasn't for
him I wouldn't be here today. I'm glad he has blessed me with what I
love the most, more then myself MUSIC.
Thank you,
Kevin C. Krouse
