KD has been in the film and television industry since the tender age of four. His childhood in Toronto's Regent Park influenced his mother's decision to put her ambitious and talented son into acting to try and make some extra money to pay the bills and get out of the city. Growing up as an entertainer, KD has always loved to perform. His talent and skills are apparent from his work in films such as The Old Man and The Sea (1999) which won an Oscar for best animated short, as well as his first starring role in the film Treed Murray (2001) which was nominated for a Genie award for best feature film. After having several roles in successful films and TV shows, including Honey (2003), Four Brothers (2005), How She Move (2008), and most recently the cartoon "Total Drama Revenge Of The Island" for Teletoon & The Cartoon Network (Feb. 2, 2012). KD, now at the age of 27, has now ventured into the music industry to conquer another side of entertaining. After working with different recording music artists on set such as Drake, Tyrese, Andre 3000, Lil Romeo, Genuine, Keisha Cole, Mya, Missy Elliot & Shawn Desman, KD has been inspired to utilize his talents not only for acting but rapping as well.
KD considers himself to be a "Global Rapper" rather than being labelled as JUST a "Canadian Rapper". When music is labelled as "Canadian" it is automatically assumed that the artist isn't as credible as an American artist. KD would like to break the stereotypes of the Canadian music industry and prove that he is as credible as any American artist and more talented than the majority of recording artists out now. From his tough, eye-opening childhood growing up in Toronto's Regent Park, KD has worked hard to obtain the level of success he has today. Everything KD writes comes from his life experiences as well as his heart. Achieving success in the entertainment industry is a daunting task for anyone to accomplish, but with his ambition and drive, he will stop at nothing to achieve it. He has already accomplished so much which is proof that KD is one of Canada's top emerging stars. There is only bigger and better things to expect from him in the future.
